CAN I DOUBLE A RECIPE USING RAGINâ CAJUN & CAJUNâS CHOICE SEASONING OR MIXES?
Yes! Most recipes can easily be doubled. Simply double the ingredients while maintaining the same cooking method. Remember, doubling the recommended amounts of seasoning can increase the amount of salt, flavor &/or spice in the products. Itâs always best to taste as you add.  Â
Conversely, with our sauces & bisque, you can use less liquid (water, stock, or cream) to make the sauce thicker. Â Adding meat & seafood to any dish can also increase the amount of water naturally in the sauce.
Cooking time may vary slightly depending on the size of your dish or cooking vessel.

Raginâ Cajun & Cajunâs Choice products are designed to deliver authentic Cajun flavor with balanced heat. Many of our seasonings provide bold flavor without overwhelming spice.

Raginâ Cajun Foods was founded in Lake Charles in 1980 by former MLB pitcher, Ray Fontenot. In 1984, Tom Riggs establishes Southern Seasonings, which then acquires Raginâ Cajun foods in 1988. In 2017, Acadian Kitchens LLC is formed to acquire Southern Seasonings and bring these legacy brands to a national audience. After founder Tom Riggs retires, a new leadership team takes over to bring new vision to our products while still honoring the companies roots. From 2020 to 2021 there is new, bold logo changes to help invest in the growth of Raginâ Cajun Foods and Cajunâs Choice. DO RAGINâ CAJUN PRODUCTS HAVE A âBEST BYâ DATE?
Yes. All of products include a Best By date printed on the packaging to indicate peak freshness and flavor.
While spices and dry mixes may remain safe beyond this date, flavor quality may decline over time. For our jarred, pre-cooked sauces such as Etouffee, Roux & Creole sauce ALWAYS refrigerate after opening.Â
HOW SHOULD I STORE RAGINâ CAJUN SEASONINGS?
For best flavor, color and quality:
- Store in a cool, dry place
- Keep containers tightly sealed
- Avoid exposure to heat, moisture, or direct sunlight. Note that light exposure can change the color of spices in shorter time, without necessarily impacting the flavor.
- For our jarred pre-cooked sauces such as Etouffee, Roux & Creole sauce ALWAYS refrigerate after opening.Â
Proper storage helps maintain the freshness and potency of the spices. Also seasoning blends can settle over time so always shake well before using.
