The published stovetop directions for Petite Creole Red Beans, White Beans, Black Beans, Pinto Beans, Blackeye Peas and Ten Bean Soup call for 2 to 2½ hours at a low boil, or until tender, after bringing the pot to a boil. Check the current bag for the variety you buy; prep and heating time are additional.
Meat is optional in the published directions for the varieties with a full cooking method. Ham or sausage can be added to blackeye peas and pinto beans, for example. Check each product’s ingredients and current package for dietary needs rather than relying on the choice to leave out meat.
