Recipe Highlight
- Cut up 2 lbs of chicken and 1 lb of smoked sausage, brown and combine with 2 quarts of water or chicken stock in a 4 quart pot.
- Add Ragin’ Cajun Authentic Gumbo mix and stir well. Cover and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer on low for approximately 25 minutes.
- Serve over rice and enjoy.
OPTIONS FOR GUMBO RECIPES
- Chop and sautée 2 cups of okra in a small amount of vegetable oil. Drain and add to gumbo.
- Ten minutes before gumbo is ready, add 2 tbsp of chopped green onions.
- Add 1 lb smoked andouille sausage or kielbasa in place of other meats.
*When preparing without meat, use 2-1/4 cups of water.
- Combine 2 lbs of seafood (Oysters and crab meat should be added during the last 10 minutes of cooking.), 2 quarts of water and Ragin’ Cajun Authentic Gumbo mix in a 4 quart pot.
