Wow! Very close to what my grandmother used to fix, and I loaded them up with her canned sweet pepper relish. Good memories.
I wanted some today didn't have ham or bacon, but a little bit of Mexican Chorizo and a dollop of Beef Tallow, water, no broth. Pressure cooker for 45 minutes and perfect. I topped them with Byler's Relish House Homemade Amish Country Sweet Pepper Relish from Amazon and just like eating at Grandma's. Ragin Cajun black eyed peas were on clearance at Kroger for $3. I should have bought them all, as I am a fan now. I will try all of their products now, because in DFW, we just don't have complete access to my foods from home.
I don't write reviews as a norm... but this was a great easy cook and certainly a wonderful meal.
