Product Instructions: Dissolve desired amount of roux in water until thoroughly mixed and there are no clumps. Needs no refrigeration.

 

Chicken & Sausage Gumbo Recipe: Sauté 1/2 cup chopped bell pepper, 1-1/2 cups chopped onion, 4 cloves chopped garlic and 1/2 cup chopped celery with 1/4 cup of butter in a 5 quart pot. Add 3 quarts of water or chicken stock and bring to a boil. Stir in 1 cup of Acadian Kitchens Premium Roux, 2 lbs of chicken and 1 lb smoked sausage. Season with Ragin' Cajun ‘The Original’ Cajun Seasoning. Cook on a low boil for 45 minutes and stir occasionally while cooking. Serve over rice. Makes 1 Gallon of Gumbo

Seafood Gumbo Recipe: Prepare Acadian Kitchens Premium Roux, water/stock & vegetables the same as for the Chicken & Sausage Gumbo recipe above. Add 1 lb of crab meat & 1 lb of shrimp to boiling gumbo during the final 15 minutes of cooking.
