Product Instructions: Dissolve desired amount of roux in water until thoroughly mixed and there are no clumps. Needs no refrigeration.
Chicken & Sausage Gumbo Recipe: Sauté 1/2 cup chopped bell pepper, 1-1/2 cups chopped onion, 4 cloves chopped garlic and 1/2 cup chopped celery with 1/4 cup of butter in a 5 quart pot. Add 3 quarts of water or chicken stock and bring to a boil. Stir in 1 cup of Acadian Kitchens Premium Roux, 2 lbs of chicken and 1 lb smoked sausage. Season with Ragin' Cajun ‘The Original’ Cajun Seasoning. Cook on a low boil for 45 minutes and stir occasionally while cooking. Serve over rice. Makes 1 Gallon of Gumbo

So far I've only used the Roux powder - put a tablespoon in a bowl of Chicken and Rice soup and it was great. Will be making something with the Premium Roux soon. So far the only question I have is "Best By Date" - everything I ordered had good best by dates but the Premium Roux did not have a date so not sure how many I can order next time - if the shelf life is good I can order more - thanks
